Les femmes islandaises gagnent encore au sein de certains jobs 21 % de moins que leurs homologues masculins, . Tant et si bien que la Première ministre suit le mouvement : " Je ne travaillerai pas et je m'attends à ce que toutes les femmes ici en fassent autant ".

En France, où les femmes gagnent 85 centimes pour chaque euro que les hommes gagnent, les inégalités salariales représenteraient carrément un motif de démission légitime pour... trois quarts des femmes. C'est ce qu'a démontré une étude de l'ADP Research Institute , menée auprès de plus de 32 000 actifs dans 17 pays.
